These beautiful Goldenrod Seeds were harvested in my yard.
Often confused with Ragweed, this native pollinator flower is NOT that! Goldenrod is insect-pollinated and its heavy and slightly sticky pollen does not blow on the wind. Ragweed is the usual culprit, but it has inconspicuous flowers whereas Goldenrod, which flowers at the same time, has highly conspicuous flowers and gets the blame.
Goldenrod does not need to be cold stratified and will self seed year over year if left to it's own devices.
Goldenrod is a great medicinal flower that can be used in tea or for healing salves etc. However, I am not an herbalist or a doctor, so please do your own research and consult a professional before using them for this purpose.
These seeds were harvested from well established plants in my yard that have never been sprayed or chemically fertilized.
Also, what I would love even more than your purchase is to help you do this on your own. Seed saving isnt that hard! Let me know if you need some guidance. Visit me on Instagram @jenno_cooks or email me at jennohomestead@gmail.com with any questions. Go homemade!!!!!! 💋
